With a B.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering and a B.A. in Environmental Biology from the University of Colorado, Mr. Heldenbrand has more than 30 years of experience in the engineering and construction industry. David has an extensive background in the engineering and operation of natural gas plants and compressor stations and pipelines, fires and explosions, investigation and testing of carbon monoxide incidents, failure analysis, and the complex analysis of soil gas migration.
Mr. Heldenbrand has extensive trial experience in the areas of natural gas and propane fires and explosions, carbon monoxide production and testing, appliance installation and operation and codes and standards for the above mentioned areas. David has managed numerous multi-disciplined projects, coordinating disciplines of metallurgy, chemistry, structural engineering, electrical engineering and other necessary disciplines into the investigation of numerous claims. He has been called for his services on large scale projects internationally to Malaysia, Mexico, Guam and Canada.
A Professional Engineer licensed in the States of Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma, with over 30 years of professional experience as a consulting engineer, Mr. Heldenbrand has provided expert testimony in both deposition and trial on numerous occasions.

Shane M. Darville, P.E., CFEI

With a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the United States Military Academy, West Point and a M.S. in Engineering Management from Missouri University of Science and Technology, Mr. Darville began his career serving 5 years in the US Army. Shane’s military background extends from being Facilities Manager, managing all service, repair, maintenance, demolition and construction on all buildings and facilities, for the 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood, TX to being the Executive Officer for two Infantry Companies, responsible for managing 200 Soldiers and a $70 million property book in the 1st Infantry Division at Fort Riley, KS. He additionally was responsible for the logistics of moving men and equipment for one combat deployment and one overseas training rotation.
Here at Bison Engineering, Shane investigates all manners of cases requiring a mechanical engineer from pressure vessels, equipment failures, and fires to various forms of water leaks and everything in between. Shane has also taken an active roll in Bison’s CO and H2S exposure line of cases.
As a Licensed Professional Engineer with more than 8 years of experience in various aspects of construction and engineering, Shane brings mechanical knowledge and organizational leadership to our firm and client relationships.
Daniel F. Saavedra
Bilingual Civil Engineer- Houston, Texas
Areas of Specialization -Testing Design
With a B.S. in Civil Engineering from Escuela Colombiana de Ingenieria- Bogota, Colombia, Daniel has 7 years of experience in large scale facilities engineering projects. Civil Design- Concrete and steel- reviewing construction documents, and blueprints, Facilities operations and maintenance, Construction Management and Quality control. Daniel has performed structural evaluations, Construction defects and failure inspections on maintenance equipment failures and design problems.
Over 30 years of experience in commercial trucking and tractor/trailer fleet management experience.

-Expert on FMCSA, OSHA, MSHA, and DOT transportation standards

Decades of experience in the transportation and tractor trailer fleet management industries, qualifies Mr. Davidson to conduct investigations into incidents involving trucking and transportation regulations. Ray has trained and evaluated drivers, managed and maintained safety policies, investigated incidents, managed permitting for nationwide transportation, and worked as a consultant to help transportation companies improve their FMCSA scores. Having invaluable experience as a driver, fleet manager, investigator, and consultant for many years, Mr. Davidson now provides expert testimony to our clients for cases that involve commercial transportation vehicles or cargo.

Dawn Moore, CAP
As a Certified Administrative Professional, Dawn has over 25 years of experience in Accounting and Administrative background. As Bison Engineering’s Office Manager she is responsible for Accounting, Marketing, Evidence Storage, and Building and Grounds maintenance. She is skilled in various accounting programs and preparing business spreadsheets and documents to operate the business in a successful and smooth fashion. In addition, she assists the team in coordinating their schedules and travel plans as needs arise. As new business calls come into the office, she skillfully obtains the necessary information to direct the project to the proper consultant.

William J. Arnoult III Ph.D., P.E.
Consulting Engineer, Metallurgist
Dr. Arnoult’s remarkable credentials include a Ph.D. in Materials Science from Rice University, Registered Professional Engineer, and Fellow of the National Academy of Forensic Engineers.
With supreme qualifications, Dr. Arnoult provides Bison clients credible expert testimony in the field of materials failure analysis of metals, ceramics, glasses, plastics, and elastomers, to name a few.
Theodore C. (Ted) McGill
Construction Management Consultant
Mr. McGill has over thirty-five years of construction management experience in the engineering and construction industry. He has worked in the design and construction of all disciplines and maintained a working knowledge of all facets of the industry, from conceptual design through start-up and operations. His areas of expertise include the areas that normally are the origin of problems and failures – schedule, quality control, cost control, and contract management.
Jeffrey S. Winship
Computer Graphics Consultant – Houston, Texas
For over 22 years, Jeff has developed computer graphics and animation for presentations, courtroom exhibits and demonstrative evidence. As a specialist in scientific and engineering related graphics, he draws upon his experience in mechanical design assistance as well as his fieldwork in refinery/plant incidents, auto accidents and other mechanical failures to create accurate and effective forensic graphics. He provides outstanding technical assistance in the acquisition, translation and graphical representation of field and test data.
Mark T. Kilgore, Ph.D., P.E.
Consulting Structural/Civil Engineer
With over 20 years of forensic experience, Dr. Kilgore has an extensive and impressive background in Structural and Civil Engineering along with Building Construction. This knowledge and experience qualify him to investigate and testify with confidence and surety on cases involving structural issues or potential construction defects. He has a Ph.D. and an M.S. in Building Construction Management as well as an M.E. in Civil Engineering and is a licensed Professional Engineer in many states.
